Community Overview

The Town of Pleasant View was incorporated in 1996 with rapid growth occurring in the region for several years before the incorporation. It is a small town with a population of approximately 3000 citizens covering approximately 12 square miles. But the spirit of Pleasant View and the surrounding region reaches far into the past well before the thought of becoming a city was born and when only a handful of citizens called this region home.

Generations of families with deep roots in the region have lived and worked here for many years. The pride and determination of these early citizens is evident to all who choose to call this area home. It has become an area of choice for many Middle Tennesseans who desire a quality of life and the benefits that small town living has to offer. Visitors are met with open arms and friendly faces. Many return with the determination to become part of one of the most promising areas in the midstate.

Dotted with award winning schools, various churches, sports facilities and recreational opportunities, the Pleasant View area is conveniently located just off Interstate 24 between Nashville and Clarksville. The county seats of Cheatham and Robertson Counties, Ashland City and Springfield are each located approximately 10 miles away from Pleasant View via State Highway 49. Being centrally located is a key to the growth and desirability of the area. Businesses, industries, and residents appreciate the closeness of the Cumberland River, the Interstate system and the state and county highways that ensure easy movement from place to place.

Hiking, boating, horseback riding, canoeing and group sports are among some of the most popular recreational activities that are available to citizens and visitors of the area. The natural beauty is abundant with spectacular vistas in many areas of the county. Many citizens choose to be a part of civic and volunteer organizations which are an integral part of community and county activities.
